Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy means the generation of energy through the Earth’s internal heat. Heat can be extracted by a variety of methods, but in most cases, water and/or steam will transport geothermal energy to the Earth’s surface. In a geothermal power plant, electricity is generated when geothermal heat produces steam that will spin a turbine that is connected to a generator.
UNDERSTANDING Geothermal Energy

1.
Wells are drilled into the Earth’s crust.
2.
The heat is drawn through the Earth using water and steam.
Main Uses of Geothermal Heat

Geothermal heat can be used to generate electricity.

Directly extracted to heat homes and buildings.
