FNPA Newsletter

April 2023

We are starting our bi-monthly newsletter! A quick update on what FNPA has been up to:

We have been an integral part of the City of Regina’s Indigenous Procurement Policy Advisory Committee which led to the City of Regina Indigenous Procurement Policy to be unanimously approved by council on February 8th, 2023!

We are continuing to work with the City of Regina on the committee, thank you to the City of Regina, PFN Group of Companies, Saulteax Business Developments, File Hills Qu’Apelle Developments, Cowesses First Nation, Makwa Innovations, New Horizon FNAI, Reconciliation Regina, Metis Nation Region III, Piapot First Nation, George Gordon Developments, and Sask. First Nations Natural Resource Centre of Excellence for all the great work towards reconciliation.

Community Energy Planning

Community Energy Planning for the communities of Piapot First Nation, Muscowpetung First Nation, The Key First Nation, Red earth Cree Nation, and Zagime Anishinabek First Nation are underway.

Is your community is interested in having a community energy plan? Some benefits include:

  • Access to funding for future renewable energy projects
  • Easily able to report on funding – clear metrics
  • Ability to review goals and assess progress
  • Strong understanding of baseline data and future opportunities

Your community may be eligible for a free Clean Energy or Power 101 training session! You can learn about topics such as energy efficiency, green energy technologies, community energy planning and more.

Your community may be eligible for a free renewable energy assessment! We can assess the energy needs, and recommend potential renewable energy options for a building in your community.
