Organization Summary: First Nations Power Authority (FNPA) is North America’s only Indigenous-led, owned and governed not-for-profit helping to de-risk power projects with power utilities and energy companies. FNPA’s membership base consists of 165+ Indigenous communities and Industry partners from around Mother Earth. FNPA bridges the gaps between industry, government and Indigenous communities by providing expertise in the Canadian electricity sector, with a focus on building capacity, knowledge transfer, wealth creation, equity ownership in renewable energy, carbon neutral and nuclear development. FNPA assists with access to capital programming, procurement design and delivery of Indigenous-led projects.
Position Summary: The Membership Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing FNPA’s membership base. The primary purpose of this role is to attract, retain and engage members by developing and implementing strategies, maintaining databases, coordinating meaningful engagements with the FNPA team and ensuring a positive member experience. The Membership Manager plays a key role in fostering strong relationships with current and potential members, ultimately contributing to the growth and sustainability of the organization.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective communication with team members, members and partners both verbally and in writing
- Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain and engage members aligning with FNPA’s mandate
- Actively seek new members through targeted outreach, marketing campaigns and networking opportunities
- Develop and execute initiatives to enhance the value of membership
- Effectively communicate with membership through various channels providing relevant information, updates and opportunities
- Assist in organizing and seeking out member engagements, meetings and networking opportunities
- Alongside the Finance Manager, oversee membership dues collection, invoicing and develop and maintain an annual renewal strategy
- Collaborate with the FNPA team to integrate membership initiatives into overall organizational strategies
- Prepare quarterly reports on membership statistics and achievements
- Develop marketing initiatives to promote member benefits
- Maintain FNPA’s membership database
- Monitor and update fnpa.ca in collaboration with the Communications Director
Qualifications & Work Experience:
- A bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications, nonprofit management or a related degree is preferred.
- 5+ years experience in a management role is essential. (Planning, recruiting, customer service, etc.)
- Solid understanding of Indigenous culture and values
- Ability to demonstrate FNPA’s core values: accountability, trust, transparency and collaboration
- Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Availability to travel on an as needed basis
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills in maintaining and updating records, files and documentation
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information, documents and data.
- Experience building and maintaining professional networks
Reporting: This position will report to the Director of Indigenous Engagement
Location: FNPA Head Office, Regina, Saskatchewan
Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience
Hours: Full-time (40 hours / week); Monday to Friday
