Community Energy Planning

Community Energy Planning (CEP) provides a community with a comprehensive report on the communities baseline energy and emissions profile, an understanding of energy efficiency and conservation opportunities in their community, and finally, opportunities for renewable energy projects at the community level.

The CEP is truly community led through a CEP Working Group made up of community members, leadership, elders and youth who guide the process. The major community engagement session of the CEP is a Community Energy Visioning Workshop where participants are asked to participate in a number of activities that help to paint the picture of the community’s energy future. The outcomes from the workshop then determine which projects are best suited for the community and shout be studied further through the CEP process.

COST RANGE:
$35,000 to $50,000
BUSINESS PLANNING FOR ENERGY PROJECTS

Renewable Energy Opportunities Assessment

Renewable Energy Opportunities Assessment (REOA) is a smaller scale than a full Community Energy Planning (CEP), a REOA looks at the usage from a select group of buildings and determines a plan for energy efficiency and conservation as well as offsetting energy costs through building-scale renewable energy projects. The assessment includes the energy profile for each of the buildings and recommendations to implement to reduce energy usage and costs.

COST RANGE:
$8,500 to $20,000
PARTNERSHIP IDENTIFICATION PROCESS (PIP)

FNPA can assist an Indigenous organization or Industry member in finding a suitable partner for a renewable energy project through our Partnership Identification Process (PIP). The PIP is a competitive process that creates partnerships between Indigenous communities and Industry that fosters successful Indigenous-led renewable energy projects.

COST RANGE:
$4,000 to $6,000
Solar Project Design and Assessment

FNPA uses solar engineering and design software’s to assist communities in designing a solar project to meet the community’s needs. This includes looking at land use maps to understand where the solar project can be located and then assessing which option is best for solar potential.

Price is per building.

COST RANGE:
$1,500 to $5,000
COMMUNITY ENERGY PROJECT PROCUREMENT (PARTNERSHIP IDENTIFICATION PROCESS - PIP)

FNPA has developed a unique procurement support process called the Partnership Identification Process (PIP). FNPA works with the community to understand the project and then develops a PIP to be sent to all FNPA Industry Members about the project and requesting a proposal and quote. This process helps to ensure that communities get the long-term support they need to make a project successful. The Partnership Identification Process (PIP) was developed by FNPA to help facilitate partnerships and assist General Members with selecting strong partners for success in renewable energy projects. The PIP process is similar to a traditional Request For Proposal (RFP), but ensures that the process is completed organically and collaboratively to ensure Indigenous communities, businesses and organizations are able to build their capacity in renewable energy development and have strong partners to help them do so.

COST RANGE:
$8,500 to $10,000
RENEWABLE ENERGY FINANCIAL MODELLING

FNPA has an exceptional in-house economist who is ready to assist with Financial Modelling for Renewable Energy Projects. The price of financial modelling is based on the size and scale of projects. Discussion on specific financial modelling requirements will be had prior to a proposal being sent to you.

COST RANGE:
$10,00 to $25,000
