COTE FIRST NATION

The Cote First Nation is a Saulteaux First Nations band government in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. This Saulteaux reserve is connected to the Keeseekoose First Nation and only a couple of miles from the Key First Nation.
Their land is situated just south of the boreal forest in the aspen parkland ecosystem of Canada.
Who we are?
Cote First Nation is a Saulteaux nation The band has a current membership of 3,900 people with approximately 900 living on reserve. The band has facilities on reserve for the benefit of all band members. There is a rink, recreation centre, youth centre, daycare centre, band hall, health centre, store/gas station and a Kindergarten – Grade 12 school.
Where we are?
Cote First Nation is located north of the town of Kamsack, Saskatchewan and 16km west of the Manitoba Border totaling approximately 8,090 hectares (19,900 acres) within Treaty 4 territory.

Why Cote First Nation?
COTE RESOURCES INC. is the corporate entity registered in Alberta as an oil and gas development located 180 kilometers SW of Fort McMurray, and south of Wabasca-Desmarais, Alberta. The actual property is called Cote/ McMullen, is it located next to Husky/ McMullen property. The Cote/McMullen property is classified as oil sands and as such, will benefit from a royalty holiday in the first stages of development.
The property is only in development stages, not at the producing stage.
