FNPA 4th Annual Indigenous Green Energy Forum
Tansi, Hello, Bonjour,
On behalf of First Nations Power Authority (FNPA), we would like to extend a warm invitation to our 4th Annual Indigenous Green Energy Forum happening Wednesday, November 21, 2018. It is to be held at the TCU Place, Treaty 6 Territory, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Our 2017 Renewable Energy Forum sold-out so get your tickets today!
Building on the success of last year’s forum and FNPA’s recent expansion into Alberta, this year’s forum is both going to be bigger in size and in scope – highlighting renewable energy opportunities across Canada. This year’s forum brings together Indigenous Leaders in Renewable Energy to showcase expertise and achievements towards sharing best practices and generating a dialogue on common renewable energy priorities for Indigenous People.
Background: Each of the Provinces and Territories have taken different approaches to supporting Indigenous participation in the renewable energy sector and each approach has had its strengths and weaknesses. As the sector continues to advance rapidly, Indigenous Leaders, businesses, and communities must quickly develop strategies and adopt practices to fully engage. Indigenous Nations can learn many things from each other through successes, but as important, through overcoming the challenges.
Goal: Provide a forum to discuss and share lessons learned from Indigenous Leadership and Executives who have succeeded in bringing new economic development, community infrastructure and wealth to their communities through renewable energy. A new Nation to Nation dialogue on renewable energy infrastructure will serve to advance Indigenous participation in the sector through greater understanding of essential community engagement, industry partnerships and project development strategies.
A key outcome from the Forum will be the establishment of new connections and networks for Indigenous People in the renewable energy sector – enabling Nation to Nation exchange of ideas, learning and partnerships. The format for event will entail a series of presentations including several that highlight successful Indigenous renewable energy projects.
Audience: Indigenous Leadership and Executives across Canada, from Economic Development, Land Management and Leadership. The Forum will also attract key representatives from independent power producers, utilities, regulators, legal, finance, government, policy groups and non-governmental organizations.
We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you at this event., tickets for the Pathway to Powerful Opportunities Gala are now avaialble here.
Kinanaskomotin, Thank You, Merci!
